PLWHA Victoria Events

Treatment Interactive Events

Treatment Interactive Events provide relevant current information to HIV positive people on a range of medical, social and psychological issues that impact on their lives.  Events are held three times a year and consist of a panel of health professionals to discuss and present information on living well with HIV. The events take place within a cafe/restaurant atmosphere on an evening/weekend, and provide a social peer support environment where the latest in treatment and health information is imparted in an informal, entertaining and educational format.  The events are an exemplary model for providing education within a safe and social environment.  Free entry, refreshments and door prizes. For further information contact PLWHA Victoria.

Planet Positive

Planet Positive is a regular social event for HIV positive members and their friends. It aims to facilitate the social networks of PLHIV to improve their emotional and social well being in an enjoyable and safe environment. Planet Positive is held every two months at various locations throughout Melbourne. Check your local newspaper and PosLink for the next date and location.  Free entry, refreshments and door prizes. For further information contact PLWHA Victoria.

Midsumma Carnival

When visiting the Midsumma Festival Annual Carnival, please feel free to pay a visit to the PLWHA Victoria tent/marquee. At the tent you can freshen up with free cold water and fresh fruit, pick up your latest copy of PosLink and other resources while chatting with friends, staff and volunteers of PLWHA Victoria.

The space also offers the opportunity to sit down and take a break throughout the day, rest those tired feet, and give your pets a chance to have a drink and rest also.

Pride March Victoria

PLWHA Victoria regularly takes part in Melbourne's Annual Pride March. With a crowd of enthusiastic friends and supporters, the PLWHA Victoria's entry is a crowd favourite!

If you would like to be involved in the March, and enjoy the fun and festivities, or have artistic abilities and time on your hands, please contact PLWHA office.
